Dipl.-Ing. Verfahrenstechnik, is managing director of 2° GmbH, a company specialized in services in the fields of climate protection, energy and sustainability, and is currently president of the “Designated Operational Entities and Independent Entities Association” (D.I.A.) – the association of internationally active verification companies under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Based on his activities in the field of general environmental protection, he was able to gain significant professional experience, especially internationally, as head of the verification office and as verifier for international climate protection projects (CDM, JI, VCS, Gold Standard, etc.) as well as auditor within the framework of the European Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS). He is also an accredited environmental verifier (EMAS) and lead auditor (ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and EDL-G). He has also been involved in various project and research activities in the areas of climate protection, energy and sustainability as a project manager over the last 20 years and is currently appointed as a lecturer on the subject of energy-intensive processes at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences.
