Luis Robles Olmos

Luis Robles Olmos MSc. in Agricultural Engineering (Universidad Politécnica, Madrid), was awarded a Diploma in Applied Sciences from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid (URJC). He has built his professional career in agriculture, forestry, environment, water management and use with a focus on climate change projects since 1999. Over the past twenty years, he has held various roles in climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, as well as various engineering projects for consulting and certification firms. From 2007 to 2017, he led the Climate Change Unit of AENOR, a CDM DOE and JI AIE that is also active in ISO, VCS, GS, WCD, IHA and other certification schemes (validation and verification). Currently, Luis works as an international consultant assisting multilateral and governmental agencies with the implementation of the Paris Agreement, MRV systems, NAMAs, mitigation project implementation, and the development of national carbon policies and new initiatives to scale carbon programs. As a member of verico SCE, he is an active auditor of EU ETS annual reports, Spanish CLIMA projects, ISO 14064 -1 corporate inventories and ISO 14064-2 emission reduction projects. As a doctoral student and researcher of the Industrial Technologies Doctoral Program at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, his doctoral research focuses on the contribution of new mechanisms of the Paris Agreement to emissions reduction, benefits to local economies, and sustainability.
