Evren Türkmenoğlu is a chemical engineer and a more internationally active climate change consultant with many years of experience in designing, developing and implementing policies for this purpose.
He worked for 12 years in the Turkish Ministry of Environment as a government official. His responsibilities in the Turkish government included representing Turkey in various international conferences and events related to climate change, including the UNFCCC process as a member of the Turkish delegation, coordinating Turkey’s climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, especially tasks related to MRV, national GHG inventories, national communications, and related international projects; designing, preparing, implementing, and enforcing Turkey’s MRV legislation. After resigning from his government position, he began his freelance career as a consultant on international climate policy. He continues to serve in the Turkish Accreditation Agency as an assessor for ISO 14065 audits.
